Artists from Chester and Goshen among art show winners

NEWBURGH — Artists from Chester and Goshen were among the winners of Mount Saint Mary College’s 32nd annual Artists on the Campus Show.
Randy Chisholm of Chester won first place in the color photography category for his work “Hom Street Foliage.” Joan Mester of Goshen won second place in the water media category for “Templom.”
Sixty-five artists participated in the show, which was judged by artist Kevin Cook of New Paltz.
Anna Weber of Wallkill won the Sister Francis Joseph Egan Best in Show Award for “Insecurity.” Fanny Copeland of Newburgh won the Bethlehem Art Gallery Award for “Wanna Play.”
In the wildlife category, the winners are: first, Scott McNabb of Columbia, Md., “Froggy”; second, Marianne Taylor of Walden, “Summer Visitor”; and honorable mention, Lisa O’Gorman of Pine Bush, “Sam I Am.” Kathy Kuryla of Cornwall won the Gayle Clark Fedigan Hudson Valley Landscape Award for “Our Retreat.”
Other winners include: oil/acrylic: first, Russ Astrab of Salisbury Mills, “Resting Place”; second, Kitty Fabrico of Yonkers, “Love on the Rocks”; and honorable mention, Peter Eagleton of Yonkers, “Dry Dock.” Black and white photography: first, Jennifer Haines of Beacon, “Before the Storm”; second, Lindsey Abrams of New Windsor, “Transformation”; and honorable mention, Alicia Palmer of Newburgh, “Freedom.” Color photography: second, McNabb, “Peterskill Lower Falls”; and Tom Knieser of Newburgh, “Winter Storage.”
Drawings and prints: first, Kristie Bell of Latham, “Malaysian Lacewing”; second, Craig Maher of Poughkeepsie, “Muse”; Honorable Mention: Jimmy Conway of Middletown, “St. Bartholemew’s.” Water media: first, John Gordon of Mohegan Lake, “Rowboats”; honorable mention, Stan Miller of Fishkill, “Sailing the Hudson.”
